Phulkari Craft

Each akari piece is produced and sourced from Panjab.

Our artisans honor the traditional craft by constructing each phulkari by hand using silk threads known as patt-da-dhaga. Each piece catches light visibly differently than anything synthetic or mass produced. Our phulkaris glow, move, and breathe with the fabric.

Phulkari patterns are built stitch by stitch on pure materials. No two pieces ever exactly alike. Depending on the complexity of the design, a single dupatta can take anywhere from a few weeks to several months to complete.

What makes an akari piece:

  • Hand-embroidered by artisans in Panjab
  • Real silk thread (patt da dhaga)
  • Pure fabric base
  • Small batch production
  • One-of-a-kind pieces

akari's phulkari pieces are tens of hours of human craftsmanship, honoring a tradition that stretches back decades to celebrate Panjabi love.

Each phulkari is made to and shared from the heart, dil ton.
